John Pratt

It is with great sadness that we report the death of our President Emeritus, John Pratt aged 87 who was a member of the Society and lover of Sweet Peas for over 55 years.

John served as Treasurer of the Society for 40 years, in that time presiding over an increase in value of the Society of more than 17 fold.
He was one of the best growers and stagers of Sweet Peas of his time, winning the Society’s top show award the Daily Mail Cup five times and the coveted Clay Cup for best vase in show three times. He was awarded the Henry Eckford medal for outstanding contribution to the Society in 1989.
